1. The "Pitches Game"
Test your ability to recognize a pitch, e.g. F# or Eb.
Listen to a randomly selected pitch out of the range of
one octave (or 3 octaves).
The game maintains your guesses in a SCORE field
as follows:

number of hits : number of blanks (deviation; mean deviation)

Deviation indicates the difference between your last attempt
and the right pitch in number of halftones. During the game
the mean deviation is updated after each attempt.
If you have what is called the perfect (or absolute) pitch,
it is an easy game for you.
But anyway, you can improve your skills.

2. The "Scales Game"
You are going to listen to one of the 12 major and
12 minor scales and than you can give your guess.
First you should recognize the major or minor third at
the beginning in order to distinguish between the
two types of scales.
To distinguish within the range of major or minor scales you
should have a look to the sequence of fifths used by the scale.
The SCORE field indicates:

number of hits : number of blanks (the selected scale)

In order to get familiar with the usage of fifths you can use
the major and minor buttons. Useful information appears
in the text window when playing scales.

Of course you can combine pitches and scales in one game.
The game is over when one of the hits or blanks counter
reaches 21 points.
You may reset the SCORE at any time in order
to start a new game.
